Many businesses nowadays are based on computers and the data stored therein. So when the hard drive crashes, hard drive data recovery is just imminent. If not, the business will really suffer because they might have to stop operations for days or even weeks until the files are restored. In the United States, there are businesses that could end up in bankruptcy if their digital data are corrupted. In most cases, data can be restored but the owner will have to seek data recovery services.
It was reported that about 40% of cases corrupted data are not caused by damages to the physical drive. The files could be damaged because of human error, the infiltration of computer viruses, or just the corruption of the hard drive because of wear and tear. So if the reasons are any of the above, an in-hour technical person can just easily run data recovery software and redeem the matter.
However, when there is physical damage or when the situation could not be reverted using the software recovery process, then it is best to bring the unit to a professional. Emergency data recovery services by professionals are done in specialized facilities with clean rooms that are free from elements like vapors and dust that could corrupt computer parts further. At these professional service centers, computers for recovery are not opened outside the clean room because it could lead to the destruction of the hard drive’s magnetic parts and then to permanent data loss.
The services of professionals, however, are not cheap because after all, special skills and specialized tools are needed to avert the loss of data. For a mere 160GB hard drive, you can pay as much as $1,600 for recovery services. However, this is something that you have to spend on because not operating at all will cause you to lose even more money.
But if you really want to prevent this occurrence, you will just have to back up your computer data regularly. Even just a mere saving of important data in CDs or DVDs could already save you a lot of worry and even expense for your small business.
