Somehow, there will come a time when we need to clean up the hard drive of our computer. And aside from deleting old files, it would also be good for our computer and for us if we uninstall unused software.
So what are the steps to do?
Steps How to Uninstall Software from Windows
1. What are the unused programs in your computer. Identify all the software to be uninstalled. These could be software that you have not used for like a year or two. You just have to check though if there are no other programs in your system that needs these software to run.
2. Click on the Control Panel on your desktop. Double-click on the icon, “Add or Remove Programs”. Just scroll down until the unused software. Click on the icon and then “Remove”. Removing the software would launch the uninstall process.
3. To make sure that the software was successfully uninstalled, check the “Programs” list on the start menu as well as the list under the “Add or Remove Programs” application.
4. You can also use an uninstall program. It can remove files even from hidden folders. Just use the “autorun” feature of the CD that came with the software. Now, if you have originally installed the software using a CD, the option to uninstall will just appear when you insert the CD in the drive. Then click on the “uninstall” button to start the process.
5. When you are done uninstalling, it would be best to run the “disk defragmenter” so that the gaps left by the uninstalled programs will be eliminated.
It is very easy to uninstall software. Do it to optimize your computer’s performance.
